Hi, I'm Jay Rivera, the creator of SHBL—SHOULD HAVE BEEN A LESBIAN. SHBL was born from a simple, lighthearted phrase I used to tell my girl friends whenever they faced relationship struggles: "You should have been a lesbian!" As women, we understand how to treat one another, and this idea resonated in a way that was both humorous and empowering.
Beyond the joke, SHBL carries a deeper message of support and inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community. I know how tough it can be to find acceptance from family, friends, and society, and I wanted to create a brand that represents strength, pride, and self-expression.
